From 1 December, winter tyres are compulsory in winter road conditions, and this requirement remains in force until 31 March. October and November are the busiest weeks of the year at tyre centres — if you book early, you’ll get a time that suits you rather than one that’s left over.

Honest recommendations
Not always the most expensive – always the right one
If you mostly drive short trips in town, an expensive premium tyre rarely makes a difference. If you cover long distances on country roads every day, it may be the best money you spend. That is why we always start by asking how you use the car. We have been selling and fitting tyres in Borås since 1976, and we would rather recommend a cheaper tyre that fits than a pricier one that does not.

Nybrons Framvagnsinställning has been selling and fitting tyres in Borås since 1976. The workshop is at Södra Däckvägen 3 in Nordskogen. Because wheel alignment is our speciality, we make sure new tyres go on wheels that are properly aligned – otherwise they wear unevenly from day one.

Which tyres fit my car?
The size is printed on the sidewall, for example 205/55 R16. Read it off or call us and we will help you find tyres that suit both the car and how you drive.
Should I choose premium or budget tyres?
It depends on how you drive. If you cover long distances on country roads, premium tyres usually pay off; for short trips in town a cheaper tyre is often enough. We tell you honestly what we think suits you.
How much do four new tyres cost?
It varies a lot with size and quality level, so there is no fixed price. Call us and you will get a quote for your car before we order anything.
Can I choose my own rims?
Yes. Browse our supplier Special Wheels’ range and tell us what you want. We order the rims and fit them here at the workshop.
Do you sell complete wheels?
Yes – tyres and rims fitted and balanced as complete wheels, ready to swap on. Call for a quote.
Are new tyres balanced?
Yes, always. Every new tyre is balanced when it is fitted on a rim.
Do I need a wheel alignment with new tyres?
It is not required, but often a good idea. If the wheels are out of line, the new tyres will wear unevenly just like the old ones. Front alignment costs SEK 1,200 and front and rear SEK 1,500.
Can you fit new tyres on my old rims?
Yes, we fit new tyres onto your existing rims. Call for a price – it depends on size and number.
How old can tyres be?
There is no legal limit, but rubber hardens with age. The manufacturing week is printed on the sidewall as four digits, for example 4119 for week 41 of 2019.
What is the minimum tread depth?
Summer tyres need at least 1.6 mm, and winter tyres at least 3 mm while the winter requirement applies. Grip gets worse before those limits, especially on wet roads.
Can my old wheels stay with you?
Yes, in our tyre storage for SEK 900. We check their condition and tell you if they need replacing.
Where is the workshop?
At Södra Däckvägen 3 in the Nordskogen industrial area of Borås. Turn in at Stena Metall and continue further in – we are on the inside of the area.
