From 1 December, winter tyres are compulsory in winter road conditions, and this requirement remains in force until 31 March. October and November are the busiest weeks of the year at tyre centres — if you book early, you’ll get a time that suits you rather than one that’s left over.

Why tyre storage

More than a shelf for your wheels

A wheel weighs between ten and twenty kilos, and four of them take up space most people would rather use for something else – especially in a flat with a small storage room. But the real benefit is the check: when your wheels come in, we look at tread depth and condition and tell you in good time if they need replacing. You hear about it when you have time to plan – not on the morning of the first frost.



No lifting

With tyre storage you drive in, swap and drive off. The wheels you take off stay with us until it is time again, and nothing goes in the boot.



If the tread is running low or the rubber has aged, we tell you before the season – so you can think about new tyres calmly rather than at the last minute.

How much does tyre storage cost?

Tyre storage costs SEK 900 for a standard car. For larger vehicles, call us and we will tell you what applies.

What is included?

Storage of your wheels between seasons, a check of tread depth and condition, and notice in good time if new tyres are due.

What is a tyre hotel?

It is the Swedish name for tyre storage – däckhotell. Your off-season wheels stay with the workshop instead of in your basement or garage.

How much is the swap when my wheels are stored with you?

A wheel swap costs SEK 350 for a standard car. Call us and we will book you in when it is time.

How will I know when I need new tyres?

We tell you. We check tread depth and condition, and if we think your tyres will not last another season we let you know before it is time to swap.

What tread depth do the tyres need?

Winter tyres need at least 3 mm while the winter requirement applies and summer tyres at least 1.6 mm. Grip gets noticeably worse before those limits.

How old can tyres be?

There is no legal limit, but rubber hardens with age. The manufacturing week is printed on the sidewall as four digits, for example 4119 for week 41 of 2019, and we check it.

Can I buy new tyres if mine are worn out?

Yes. We recommend tyres based on how and how much you drive, give you a quote and fit them on your rims or on new ones.

When should I book my swap?

Ideally a few weeks before the season. October, November, March and April are the busiest weeks of the year, and booking early gets you a time that suits you.

Can you tell if my wheel alignment is off?

Often, yes. Unevenly worn tyres are a clear sign the wheels are out of line, and it shows when the wheels come in. Just ask and we will measure.

Where do I drop off my wheels?

With us at Södra Däckvägen 3 in Nordskogen, Borås. Turn in at Stena Metall and continue further in.

How do I book?

Call 033-12 62 32. We are open Monday to Thursday 07:00–16:30 and Friday 07:00–11:00, and by appointment outside the busy seasons.
