From 1 December, winter tyres are compulsory in winter road conditions, and this requirement remains in force until 31 March. October and November are the busiest weeks of the year at tyre centres — if you book early, you’ll get a time that suits you rather than one that’s left over.

A tyre that has worn unevenly says something about the car. If the outer edge is worn the wheels probably point too far out; if the middle is worn the pressure has been too high. We have looked at such things since 1976 and tell you what we see at every swap. If you want the cause fixed, we do the wheel alignment in the same visit, so you do not have to drive up from Viskafors again.



How do I drive from Viskafors to you?

Route 41 north to Borås and on to Nordskogen on the north side of town. The workshop is at Södra Däckvägen 3 – turn in at Stena Metall and continue along the inside road. About 15 minutes.

How much is the wheel swap?

SEK 350 for a standard car when the wheels are on rims. Fitting tyres to rims is a separate service, call for a price.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Call and we book a time straight away. In season there is often a queue of several weeks, so call early.

What is included in the tyre change?

Removing and fitting, measuring tread depth and checking tyre pressure on all four wheels. We tell you if we see damage or uneven wear.

Do the wheels have to be balanced when you swap?

Only if you have had vibrations in the steering wheel. Tell us when you book and we check at the swap.

When must the car have winter tyres?

In winter road conditions 1 December to 31 March. Winter tyres must have at least 3 mm of tread.

When can I put the summer tyres on?

After 31 March if the roads allow. Studded tyres may be used until 15 April.

What happens if a tyre is worn?

You hear it straight away, with a price for new tyres. We recommend for how you drive and fit in the same visit if you like.

Can I store the wheels with you?

Yes, tyre storage costs SEK 900. We check their condition and tell you in good time when new tyres are due.

Do you take motorhomes, electric cars and vans?

Yes, all three are welcome. An extra cost may apply depending on the vehicle, so call with the make and model and we will tell you straight away.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Thursday 07:00–16:30 and Friday 07:00–11:00. In the low season we open by arrangement – call and we will find a time.
