From 1 December, winter tyres are compulsory in winter road conditions, and this requirement remains in force until 31 March. October and November are the busiest weeks of the year at tyre centres — if you book early, you’ll get a time that suits you rather than one that’s left over.

Swapping four wheels is fast. What takes a little longer, and what we never skip, is measuring the tread depth, checking the pressure and looking at how the tyres have worn. If a tyre is worn on one edge the wheels are out of line, and if you keep driving the new tyres will wear the same way. We have done wheel alignments since 1976 and can measure right away if you like, rather than you driving down from Fristad a second time.

Do I have to drive through Borås to reach you?
No. Nordskogen is on the north side of Borås, so from Fristad you take route 42 south and turn off before the centre. Turn in at Stena Metall and continue along the inside road.
How long is the drive from Fristad?
About 15 minutes, roughly 14 km.
How much is a wheel swap?
SEK 350 for a standard car, wheels on rims. If new tyres are to be fitted to your existing rims, call for a price on that service.
Do I have to book?
Yes. Call and you get a time straight away. We work by appointment, and in season there is a queue of several weeks if you call late.
Can I have the wheels aligned at the same time?
Yes, and it is wise if the old tyres wore unevenly. Alignment costs SEK 1,200 front, SEK 1,500 front and rear.
When does the winter tyre requirement apply?
In winter road conditions from 1 December to 31 March. Winter tyres must then have at least 3 mm of tread.
When can I switch to summer tyres?
After 31 March, as long as the roads allow. Studded tyres may be used until 15 April.
Do you look at the tyres when you swap?
Yes, we measure tread depth and check pressure on all four. If we see damage or uneven wear we tell you before you drive home to Fristad.
Can I leave the wheels with you?
Yes, tyre storage costs SEK 900. We check their condition and tell you when new tyres are due.
Do you take motorhomes, electric cars and vans?
Yes, all three are welcome. An extra cost may apply depending on the vehicle, so call with the make and model and we will tell you straight away.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Thursday 07:00–16:30 and Friday 07:00–11:00. In the low season we open by arrangement – call and we will find a time.
