From 1 December, winter tyres are compulsory in winter road conditions, and this requirement remains in force until 31 March. October and November are the busiest weeks of the year at tyre centres — if you book early, you’ll get a time that suits you rather than one that’s left over.

Measuring is only half the job

Anyone with the right machine can measure wheel angles. Understanding why the values look the way they do – a bent control arm after a kerb strike, a worn bush, a rear wheel that cannot be adjusted on your particular model – is what decides whether the alignment holds. Is it worth going from Herrljunga to Borås?

For a standard car that is your call, but if you have a motorhome, a heavy EV or a car that has worn several sets of tyres unevenly, you get a workshop here that has only done wheels since 1976. The drive is about 45 minutes.

Do I have to go through Borås centre?

No. Nordskogen is on the north side of town. Coming via Fristad you turn off before the centre. Turn in at Stena Metall and continue along the inside road.

How much is an alignment?

Front SEK 1,200, front and rear SEK 1,500 for a standard car, including VAT.

My tyres are worn on the inside – will alignment help?

Yes, that is the classic sign of wrong angles. We measure, adjust and explain what caused the wear.

Do I need new tyres before the alignment?

No, but if the old ones are finished it is smart to do the alignment when the new ones go on. We do both in the same visit.

How do I know you measured correctly?

The equipment is calibrated and updated with values for your car model, and you see the values before and after the adjustment.

Do you align electric cars?

Yes. Heavy EVs wear tyres fast if the angles are wrong, so it matters even more. Call with the model.

And if the steering wheel ends up crooked?

We correct it free of charge. Always.

Can I combine it with balancing?

Yes. If the steering wheel vibrates we balance in the same visit as the alignment.

Where is the workshop in relation to Herrljunga?

At Södra Däckvägen 3 in the Nordskogen industrial area of Borås, north of Borås. From Herrljunga it takes about 45 minutes by car via the road via Fristad. Turn in at Stena Metall and continue along the inside road – you will find us there.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Thursday 07:00–16:30 and Friday 07:00–11:00. In the low season we open by arrangement – call and we will find a time.

Do you take motorhomes, electric cars and vans?

Yes, all three are welcome. An extra cost may apply depending on the vehicle, so call with the make and model and we will tell you straight away.
